Brand & Interesting Facts

For Clerkenwell Design Week 2026, the newly redesigned TOTO showroom in London opens its doors. Originally launched in 2010 in Clerkenwell, the space has been completely reimagined. What has emerged is an immersive brand experience where visitors can engage with and explore the brand. A place that demonstrates how comfort, hygiene, and design can become part of everyday life.
The showroom layout has been entirely restructured. It now features a dedicated area for the European market alongside a global exhibition space—introduced in the UK for the first time—which extends the original concept.
Here, architects and designers gain access to internationally available collections—an important step for planning projects across different markets worldwide. The showroom thus becomes a central hub for professionals working on an international scale.
The atmosphere is apparent from the moment you enter: Yoshino cedar veneer from sustainably managed forests in Japan defines the space, lending it a warm and calm character.
Rather than replacing existing elements, the concept builds upon them. Materials from the previous showroom are reinterpreted in new ways—such as a terrazzo counter made from recycled ceramics or integrated wooden elements. This reflects a conscious approach to resources that is not merely conceptual, but visibly expressed.
In the basement, the Customer Experience Toilets invite visitors to experience the bathroom from a new perspective. Three rooms—each inspired by natural materials such as clay, wood, and stone—demonstrate how strongly material, light, and acoustics influence perception.
The focus is not on staging, but on a refined sensitivity to different situations: moments of calm, retreat, and clarity. Here, the bathroom is understood as a space that goes beyond pure functionality.
A dedicated area is focused on the technology behind the products. What is usually hidden is made visible, allowing visitors to understand how precision, hygiene, and comfort interact.
Accessibility is also rethought. A low-barrier toilet concept demonstrates how intuitive use and technological solutions can be combined—with the aim of making everyday life easier for as many people as possible.
The showroom also serves as a platform for dialogue. A flexible space in the basement provides room for exhibitions, workshops, and events.
With this project, TOTO redefines the role of a showroom: moving beyond pure product presentation towards a place of inspiration, exchange, and holistic experience.
The reopening of the TOTO showroom in London will take place on May 20, 2026, as part of Clerkenwell Design Week.
